The process for admission to the first-year Honours courses for 2012-13 academic session of the Dhaka University will begin on Aug 26.

Application forms will be distributed online through www.admission.univdhaka.edu from Aug 26 and it will continue until Sept 15. The forms have to be submitted online during the period, said an official handout on Tuesday.

The fee for the admission form has been fixed Tk 300 like the previous year. Applicants have to pay Tk 300 at any nearby branch of Agrani, Janata, Rupali and Sonali banks. The banks will charge an extra Tk 20 for money transfer.

Admission test of 'Ka' unit (Science Faculty) for the first-year Honours course will be held on Oct 12, 'Kha' unit (Arts and social sciences) on Oct 19, 'Ga' unit (Business Studies) on Nov 2, 'Gha' unit (changing discipline) on Nov 9 and 'Cha' unit (Fine Arts) on Nov 16.

Applicants, who passed HSC or equivalent examinations in 2011 or 2012, can apply for the admission tests.

The eligibility criteria to apply for admissions to different units (without 4th subject) is GPA 8.00 (minimum) combining SSC and HSC and equivalent examinations for Ka unit, GPA 7.00 for Kha unit and 7.5 for Ga unit.

The eligibility to apply for Gha unit is minimum GPA 7.00 for Humanities Group, 8.00 for Science Group and 7.5 for Business Studies Group.

The applicants must have GPA 6.00 combined in the subjects of Bangla and English in the HSC and equivalent examinations to apply for the Gha unit. Anyone, who got below C (Grade Point 3) in any subject would be ineligible to apply.

For Cha unit, the requirement of GPA is 6.00 (without 4th subject) in the HSC and SSC examinations combined.
